How To Lose Weight For Free At Home Fast

Joseph asks…

20 years old and trying to lose weight but can’t afford the gym? HELP?

Hi,
I can’t afford a gym, I can barely afford paying for college and my bills. BARELY.
At times I need money from my parents to do so and where I live the gym is just too expensive.
I was 167lb but lost 12lbs and now range between 155-151lbs, though I can’t seem to go lower than 151lbs. I just used to just walk and eat healthy food, not so much fast food, what I could afford of veggies and fruits. However, I can’t really walk outside now, it has snowed and I fall almost every time I walk in the snow. It tried in home exercises but the floor squeaks too much that it drives my neighbor insane…since I live in the second floor of an apartment, so I stopped.

I have been planning on joining Zumba since the classes in my college are free, will that be enough for me to lose weight? Or will I have to do something else as well?

I don’t know, I’m pretty tired of still being around 155-151lbs and not getting below that, that I’m losing motivation.

Also, what about body cleansing? How can I do that? I have read it helps on losing weight and that if there are too many impurities in the body the body bounces back into being fat so it won’t seem as it is filled with impurities…is that true?
If so how can I cleanse my body?

Help, please? D:
I don’t drink soda but I sometimes drink coffee when I need to stay up late for projects. I walk around the house taking breaks from my studying…I plan on joining zumba. Eventually when I get a job I plan to join the gym…
Is that a good plan? Or what exactly is a good solid weight loss plan?

Increase calories burned

Regular physical activity has so many proven benefits, such as to help control weight and blood pressure and decrease the risk for heart disease and stroke. All healthy adults (ages 18 to 64) should get at least 2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity (e.g., brisk walking) every week or 1 hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes) of vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity (e.g., jogging, running) every week. Additionally, you need on 2 or more days a week muscle-strengthening activities that work all major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest shoulders, and arms). Besides helping you lose weight, it also helps reduce your abdominal fat and preserve muscle during weight loss.

The amount of physical activity any individual person needs for weight loss can vary, but you will need to get both regular physical activity and a healthy eating plan to lose weight and keep it off. A good plan may include 30 to 60 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic physical activity, like brisk walking, done nearly every day. Find something you can do and find ways to enjoy it. Take a brisk walk or a jog with a friend or your dog. Enjoy a video that gets you moving.

how can i lose 30 pounds in 3 months?

i’m really overweight right now. i’m 17 years old, 5’2” and 150 pounds. my doctor says that i’m at risk for a lot of stuff like heart problems, cancer and diabetes and its freaking me out. he said my ideal weight would be around 115-120 pounds. it would be amazing if i could lose this weight over the summer and look amazing for my senior year of high school. and i figured 10 pounds a month isn’t really that bad and is still a healthy amount to lose. but…

1. i’ve heard that jump starting a diet with a 1-2 day juice fast. is this true? what kinds of juice should i drink to make sure i get all the vitamins i need? ((i have one of those power juice things))

2. what is the best, yet still healthy, diet? i have family members who have had good experiences with the South Beach Diet, but i’m not sure how healthy it is. any thoughts?

3. what kinds of exercises burn the most calories and fat? i have a treadmill, elliptical, stair step machine, bowflex and free weights (3 lbs, 5lbs and 10lbs). but i also have a gym membership so i can use pretty much any machine. also, are there any good classes i could take a the gym that would burn a ton of fat?

4. what are some at-home toning exercises that will tone up everything from my biceps and triceps to my abs to my butt and thighs?

thanks!

1. Juice is loaded with carbs, and fasting lowers your metabolism. You will more than likely lose only water weight and then gain it right back along with a few extra pounds. I’m speaking from experience here, don’t do the fast unless you only need to fit into a bridesmaids dress in two days and then it doesn’t matter if you gain back the weight.

2. I love low carb. Either South Beach or Atkins, they’re pretty much the exact same diet and WILL work both at getting you to lose weight and lowering your blood lipids and helping you to stay far away from diabetes.

3.The best exercises are exercises that build muscle. I would use any machine, crank up the resistance and/or incline and go slowly for about an hour. This builds lots of muscle in your legs and butt which are the largest muscles and will burn the most amount of calories both during your workout and after your workout.

4. Not a clue. I couldn’t care less about toning specific muscles. I work out by doing vinyasa yoga, high resistance on a recumbent bike, and lifting my baby constantly. I’m pretty sure this tones me up without having to think too much.

Edit: I guess I’m going to have to say more about low carb dieting since Nate has mentioned fruits and whole grains.

The whole idea of “balanced diet” or eating from the pyramid comes from the agricultural interests of America. America is a primarily grain producing country, so the “man” wants you to eat what it produces, whether it’s good for you or not. I was a vegetarian (I did eat fish, eggs, and dairy) for ten years. I did not eat refined grains, only whole grains, and I ate a lot of fruit. I ate what you would call a “balanced” diet. I gained about five pounds per year which is a grand total of about 50 pounds of excess fat all while eating very little fat.

Dietary fat does not make you fat. The lack of fat in your diet, the excess carbs (even from whole grains and fruits), and lack of exercise make you fat. Furthermore, fruit is loaded with fructose which is digested the same as regular table sugar. The only thing fruit has going for it is the fiber and you should be getting your fiber from vegetables (broccoli has more vitamin C than oranges.) You should really only eat berries and plums. All other fruit should be treated the same as chocolate cake as it does the same thing to your blood sugars.

A good visual is to think of cows. Cows are fat. They do not eat fat, and yet they are one of the fattest animals. When the farmer wants to fatten an animal up, he does not go and start feeding his livestock bacon, or some other high fat food, he feeds them grain, carbohydrates. Also, when you don’t eat fat, your body decides to make its own since it needs it to function, but it can’t make it very well and you end up with clogged arteries. There is a lot of research out there that supports this. And the research supporting low fat diets is very old and has now been debunked in favor of controlled carbohydrate eating.

When you think balanced, you should not think of the Food Guide Pyramid since “Big Money” created it, not for your benefit, but for theirs.

Another Edit: If you follow Atkins or South Beach and don’t cheat, it is reasonable that you would lose 30 pounds in three months, probably less. I’ve lost 25 pounds in less than two months.

Richard asks…

I’d like to increase my weight.?

Recently I’ve gotten back into working out. Started about two sundays ago.

Here’s a little on my workout:
Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun
Triceps
Chest
Forearms
Tread climber w/10 pound ankle weights for 15 minutes

Tues, Thurs, Sat
Biceps
Traps
Lats
Treadmill for 15 minutes

For all muscle exercises I usually do 2-3 different exercises with 2 sets of 15-20 for each.

Now here’s a little about me:

I’m 18 y/o, about 5’10” only around 130-135. I’m guessing I have a fast metabolism. I used to go to the gym and I was close to 145, but I stopped for a few months and yes, I LOST weight. I rarely did any cardio exercises or weight lifting or anything and I lost weight. Going to the gym is not an option for me anymore as I feel like I have everything I need to get a good workout in at home.

I really want to gain more weight and not look so thin. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get any taller since I’m already 18 (soon to be 19) and my father was around my height as well. I think I know how to exercise effectively, but when it comes to the nutrition or dieting I SLACK a lot! Plus I don’t really know what to do. But I’m looking to gain weight, but turn that weight into muscle.

If anyone knows any tips on gaining weight that I can turn into muscles and anymore exercises that would be great. Also looking to start on my abs and legs so if you have any good exercises for those areas, please feel free to post.

Thanks

Brewing yeast. It has a lot of vitamin B, too. It will make you gain
weight in a week. Either buy at pharmacies, as supplement, or in any
place which specializes in brewing. Three pills a day/three tablespoons a
day – depends on the product, and you are there. Good for bones and
hair as well.

James asks…

Yesterday and today I haven’t had that many calories. 1000 yesterday and about 570 today. Good or bad?

I’m 18 years old trying to lose weight but not by starvation. I’m about 260 pounds and 6 feet. I have had for breakfast :
NonFat Yogurt: 60 calories
Fiber One bar: 160 calories
Lunch:
Sugar free jello: 10 calories
10 grapes: 40 calories
Apple: 50 calories
Sandwich bread (2): 90 calories
Oven roster turkey breast (3 slices): 30 calories and lettuce (10 calories)
And I just got home and ate the sandwich again so another 120 calories and I have drank about 50oz of water. And I am pretty full as of right now. If I’m right that’s about 570 calories. I have been working out about 5 times a week running 2 miles a day on a 3 inch incline and my mile and a half time is about 13:30 and I also left and working everything else.(500 calories or so at the gym) and how fast would I lose weight like let’s say 20 pounds??

admin answers:

It’s too few considering you’re working out 5 times a week

2000 calories per day sounds better

if you go into starvation mode you’ll have a harder time dropping poundage. Just eat really clean and keep up your workout regimen

as a rule of thumb your calorie intake should be roughly 10x your body weight

Ruth asks…

I am addicted to the drink Ensure. What do I do?

I am 15 and really addicted to the drink ensure, almost like an alcoholic would be addicted to alcohol, but maybe worse. I am like an ensuraholic. When I was younger I used to get sent free pediasures and I asked the doctor for more, but he told me now that I am older I should drink Ensure. I have been drinking them for a few months now. I drink about 5 of them a day and can only drink that many because they can get expensive and my mom gets pissed if I drink anymore, so sometimes I sneak some. After I drink the first one, I just immediately want another one and want one so badly but I have to resist. I spend up a lot my own money from allowance on them and put aside about 25% of my allowance to buy them and I also make my mom buy them for me. I spend about 60 bucks a week on them because I drink a whole pack daily. They are just so good and I can’t resist.

All day I think about them especially after I drink one and this continues until about an hour or until I see a bottle of it. I have to hide the bottles so I won’t see one and crave it. While I am at school, I am thinking about the Ensure drinks and how I just can’t wait until I get home so I can drink an Ensure. All day in 8th period I just sit there and look at the clock and think about the Ensures all day. I even go my locker and stuff just to make time pass. I have began skipping after school things and clubs just so I can get home and get an Ensure to drink. The other day I wanted one really bad and there was 5 minutes of 8th period left and I just left the school to go home so that I could get one faster. I lose weight a lot and am trying to prevent it and this is the reason I’ve began drinking them. My doctor gave me a perscription-like thing to get a crap load of them for free, but everytime I call the company, the phone is always busy and they never answer by email. The other day, I got really pissed and left a rude message on the phone and sent an email and cuseed them out because I really want the Ensures and they aren’t picking up and can give a crap about how much I want one.

I noticed how this is affecting me and that I may need to cut back on them, but the though of it is just depressing. I really don’t want to, but I may have to as it is using up a lot of money. And I want one really bad right now. How do I break my addiction?

Ensure, eh?
Why not move to Florida? Just be sure to mention ‘the good old days’ and how great Ike Eisenhower was.
